The Riverdriver Collection Of Engineered Reclaimed Spruce & Fir Flooring
Our Riverdriver collection offers an assortment of engineered reclaimed flooring in a mixture of spruce and fir. With three widths and and average length of 40″, the remarkable color and character will make any room the topic of many conversations.
In 1916 The Great Northern Paper Company stopped driving tree-length logs down the Penobscot River and started cutting trees into four foot lengths for their trip to the mill.
Four foot logs were needed to fill the grinding stones where the wood was ground into pulp – the first step in paper-making. Hence four foot wood was known as pulpwood.
We select only the largest and highest quality pulpwood logs to create our Riverdriver Collection.
